Welcome, Ladies!

I decided finally to get started with the lessons/study/whatever. People are having problems all around me, myself included. There is no better time to seek the face and will of God than when you have chaos all around and things are crumbling around you. I don't know of a single person that isn't having problems in their life.

I want to make this blog a place for women to come together and learn about God and themselves, and  for us to become a support system for each other in these troubling times. I plan on starting with teaching on Who I Am In Christ, and I am taking this teaching from Dr. Neil T. Anderson. Dr. Anderson has written many books aimed at braking bondages and helping Christians to grow. Later texts may include things from Joyce Meyer, Kay Arthur, Beth Moore, and many others. Some books I particularly want to share with you are Lady in Waiting by Jackie Kendall and Debby Jones, A Jewel in His Crown by Priscilla Shirer, and A Woman after God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George. I feel it is necessary for us to listen to the godly women who have gone before us.

In Titus 2, verses 3-5 we read "Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the Word of God will not be dishonored." This is my mission for this group and my life. I want to become an older woman in the sense that I can help the younger women in my life (physically and spiritually younger) to become more like what God would call them to be. I also want to be a younger woman in the sense that I am more willing to sit at the feet of the older women in my life to learn from them. I was just thinking the other day as I was settling into the house I am living in now that I wish I had spent more time with my Grandma Bear when she was cleaning and organizing. Her house may have had a lot of stuff in it and been more 'lived in' than a show house, but she was organized far more than I have ever been in my life! I am better than I used to be but definitely not where I need to be! How much could we have learned had we been willing to listen to our mothers and grandmothers, our aunts and teachers and the ladies at church? There is never a bad time to start learning ladies. I am 40 years old, and I have a lot of 'book knowledge' but sometimes I don't see how to apply that knowledge or use it in my life. I have determined to spend an hour each day with God and learn more about what He wants from my life, both here in this blog and group and in other areas.

I will welcome any and all questions, comments, and criticisms. Please leave them here or on the Facebook page. All I ask is that we each be respectful of others' opinions and comments. Remember we are all Daughters of The King, and that makes us Sisters.

May God bless you richly this day and the rest of your lives.
